Ski holidays in Bad Kleinkirchheim
Bad Kleinkirchheim (BKK) is very popular with the Austrian and Italian skiers, but virtually unknown here in the UK. It is the home of the ski legend Franz Klammer and ski days with 'Kaiser Franz' are available each year.
The resort offers something for all levels of skiers and boarders. with many of the runs being wide and tree-lined, dotted with rustic mountain restaurants. The nursery area for beginners is situated close to the village with gentle, wide slopes and there are a good number of easy runs to progress to further up the mountain. With approximately 101kms of predominantly red runs, skiers with one or two weeks' experience will find plenty of variety on the long and wide pistes. The Kasierburg run will take you from 2055m directly down to the village. For the advanced skier, there are some challenging black runs on the Kaiserburg. The 4.8km FIS "K70 Franz Klammer" run is a must for all speed freaks! And in the nearby St.Oswald area there is some adventurous off-piste skiing.
BKK is also a spa resort and taking a thermal spring bath with a water temperature of 36°C, is a great way to unwind after a day on the slopes. This small sophisticated resort, has a relaxed après-ski atmosphere with plenty of small bars and night clubs, excellent hotels and great skiing, great fun for groups, couples and families alike.
