Ski holidays in Fügen

This pretty Tirolean village, which is a relatively unknown resort on the UK market, is located at the entrance of the famous Ziller valley, the home of the internationally acclaimed resort of Mayrhofen. Fügen's claim to fame, is that this is where the Olympic skier, Stephan Eberharter, learned to ski.

Après-ski is low key, and quite traditional, but there are number of floodlit pistes in Hochfügen and Hochzillertal open on some nights of the week, to enjoy the slopes after dark! The two ski areas are the Spieljoch and the recently interconnected Hochfügen/Hochzillertal area offering over 160km together. Hochfügen's high altitude pistes, rising to over 2500m, affords it an excellent snow-sure reputation.

The resort is ideal for families with children and beginners, as there is a gentle nursery slope in the village, close to the main gondola. For intermediates and advanced skiers, do not underestimate some of the challenging red runs on the local Spieljoch mountain and the 3km run under the Krössbichl chair-lift,dropping 500m, in the extensive Kaltenbach/Hochzillertal ski area should definitely not be missed!

This traditional small family-run guesthouse is situated in the centre of Fügen. The ski lifts are just 800m away and are easily reached by the ski bus, which stops right outside the hotel.
