Ski holidays in Sölden & Hochsölden

Sölden is becoming one of the most popular ski resorts in Europe, yet still not that well frequented by the UK market. It has hosted several World Cup races and over the last decade has become one of the best loved European snowboard centres. State of the art mountain lifts promise ultimate skiing fun with minimum queues.

There is a wide variety of runs ideal for all types of skier. The Giggijoch area provides the perfect terrain for beginners and intermediate skiers, while the challenging Gaislachkogl peak, at over 3000 m, offers some challenging runs for the more advanced.

Sölden boasts a wealth of highlights including the Giggijoch border park, race course, boarder-cross and mogul runs, the choice is all yours! The ski area was recently been connected to the Gaislachkogl glacier ski area, with a heady height of 3058 m and can now be reached directly from Sölden centre.

In fact Sölden is Austria's first ski resort to offer three superbly developed ski mountains over 3000m, known as BIG 3; the Gaislachkogl at 3058m, Tiefenbachkogl at 3309m and Schwarze Schnied at 3370m, all offering excellent high altitude skiing and spectacular views.

At the end of a great day on the mountain, prepare yourself for the varied night life that awaits you in Sölden. The après-ski scene has a reputation of being one of the best in Austria, offering everything from quiet lounge bars to lively music clubs.

Hochsölden is made up of a small selection of hotels situated at 2,000m right on the piste offering excellent ski-in /ski-out. The night life here tends to be within the hotels themselves, as access to Sölden is by taxi. Once a week there is also a late night bus available for those wishing to sample Söldens lively night life.
