Ski holidays in Zermatt

Zermatt is one of Switzerland's most well-known ski resorts and has to be one of the best in the world!  It has an extensive high-altitude ski arena and a fantastic array of off-piste to compliment it. It is also possible to cross over from Switzerland into Italy and sample the delights of neighbouring Cervinia. Extensive ‘ski safari routes' where you won't have to ski the same slope or take the same lift twice, provide a great day's skiing!

Intermediates and experts will not be able to fault what Zermatt has to offer. With fast chairlifts and gondolas, you can work your way around the mountains quickly and easily. The Rothorn sector can be reached from the village centre by underground funicular. A cog railway train has to be taken to get to the Gornergrat sector, which provides you with fantastic views of the Matterhorn. For experts, the Triftji Bumps mogul field and the steep gullies of the Schwarzsee must be done.

Zermatt is known to have the world's best mountain restaurants, from cosy huts for a well-deserved drink, to the perfect place for a full-on leisurely lunch of Swiss specialities.

The pedestrianized village is completely car-free. The only transport available is the electric shuttle buggies taking you from one end of Zermatt to the other. On the main street in Zermatt there is a vast range of shops, from clothing and jewellery boutiques, to food and wine stores. The night life is varied, providing something for everyone, with a mix of sophisticated hotel bars and more lively venues for the younger crowd.
